When eating sushi, what is the proper order?

I’ve gotten some conflicting statements, everyone agrees that sashimi is ordered first, but some people say the tempura/tamago/unagi goes after the sashimi and before the maki/nigiri, others say it goes after all the fresh foods since it’s cooked.
I assume in that case, right before the miso but after any temaki.

Which is it?

May I ask what do you mean by which one should be ordered first? I just order whatever popped up into my mind first and let the guys in the kitchen or at the sushi bar worry about the serving order.

As for the serving order, the chances of rolls coming first is pretty good at most places. Gunkan and temaki got a better chance showing up befor nigiri. I’ve never seen sashimi being the fist dish served. :)
