What kind of sushi do you like that is served everywhere?
There are certain rolls that are universal (i.e. California, Tuna, Spicy Tuna, Philadelphia, Spider, Rainbow, Las Vegas, etc.) that can be used to determine how great a sushi restaurant is based on the taste and how fresh the fish is. Obviously it’s fun to try new rolls but does anyone have a few universal rolls they like to try at every sushi restaurant they regular? Mine are the Rainbow, Tuna, and Spider Rolls.
I think the best way to tell how fresh the fish is, is to eat sashimi – and I like tuna and octopus the best. It’s easier to “hide” the quality of the fish when it’s disguised in a roll ….. But, I like Sweet Shrimp Handrolls the best
