Grocery store sushi vs. restaurant sushi: isn’t one as good as the other?

Ok, I ask because I have yet to eat examples from both locations, see I have this problem that if the kind I get at the grocery store is fresh and plenty tasty for my white boy palate at about $4-$6 a package. Although the restaurant sushi may be be more authentic/correct, I bet they hike up the price real big too. I am not saying grocery store sushi is the hands down best pick, though it is a good convergence of taste and price. Of the people who have ate both:

Which did you like better?
Was one source consistently better than the other?
Would you say restaurant sushi was worth the increased cost?
I am talking about taste and quality, I can live without the pageantry, ritual, and mystique of restaurant based sushi. Unit for unit which tastes better and leaves you more satisfied?

Good sushi like sex is hard to explain. One day you’ll have it and you will know.

That being said, there are plenty of restaurants that are no better than a supermarket.
