Sushi: Is it safe to eat while pregnancy?

Is sushi safe to eat during pregnancy? It is important to know what role sushi can play in the diet during pregnancy.

Sushi contains lots of vitamins and nutrients, which can actually be beneficial to the growth and development of the baby. Sometimes Sushi cooked from the certain type of fish like Kajiki (swordfish), Saba (mackerel), shark, and tilefish which should be avoided by pregnant women, no matter how they are cooked.

There are other types of fish would do not need to be avoided entirely, but should be limited because they are higher in mercury than other types of fish. It is recommended that pregnant women do not eat any more than three six-ounce servings a month.

According to the dictionary, “Sushi is cold rice formed into various shapes and garnished with bits of Raw Fish or seafood”.  Japanese Food is generally considered low-fat and healthy, so one would think it. It would be an ideal food for pregnant women. Sushi is a very famous Japanese dish. It contains of Raw Fish, cooked rice and vegetables. It can also contain other seafood. The raw, cleaned fish was pressed between rice and salt by a heavy stone for a few weeks. Raw fish and shellfish are definitely not safe to eat during pregnancy. They can harbor hepatitis, bacteria and parasites, all dangerous to women and their fetuses. If you love your sushi, plan to have some delivered to the hospital room after you’ve given birth as a reward for depriving yourself for the last nine months!

But Sushi is also great for your heart. Why not eat a food that can improve your overall well being, help improve your mental state and keep your heart healthy. Sushi taste great and is very healthy for you. The benefits of Sushi can also include helping with depression, helping boost the immune system and it can help include the fat necessary to your diet. It can also lower your overall cholesterol. The Omega-3 fats also help prevent mental illness and can help in keeping your blood sugar levels at a healthy range.
