Sashimi Spring Rolls

So you think you have tasted real Mexican food?

One of the best things about Mexico is not just the awesome people, the amazing Mexico Real Estate, the vivid night scene, but the food. Wow. Authentic Mexican food is nothing compared to what we all get in the big name Mexican food chains. When you actually go to Mexico and taste the difference, you will NOT want to leave. And how did I come about this entire pot of gold? Well, it all started when I was checking for condos in Mexico Real Estate. I checked out this website of some Mexico Real Estate and saw what I could not believe- amazing houses and much more for only a fraction of what people would pay in the US. I thought there was a catch and had to see everything for myself, and it was as good as anything could get. And that’s when I first encountered real Mexican food.

In search for the ultimate Mexico Real Estate, I got a bit hungry. That’s when I stopped at Ophelia’s, a restaurant and lounge at Ensenada. Head chef Ramos has turned it into a premier hot-spot for the local elites. Using a mix of Asian, American and Latino flair, he has created a restaurant of wonder. The Shitake mushrooms tostada appetizers, pan seared pork skewers with caramelized onions, the Pico del Gallo and the house salad, which you can top off with the catch of the day.

Another amazing restaurant that only a lucky few in the Mexico Real Estate region get to visit is the Casa Natalie. This restaurant is so exclusive; it has only four tables. That’s right- just four tables, a private chef and an extra-ordinary wine list- if you’re lucky to book it in advance. The house red is Casa de Piedra and is just amazing. The chef prepares anything on the menu, which also features local seafood, to your liking. I will admit that it may be a bit pricy, but where else can you get such personalized service in the $200 range.

The last great restaurant we visited in the Baja region was the Azul Marino. It is indeed an international restaurant as it incorporates all types of cooking styles and flavours for every guest. How international? Every Thursday, the specials change and can be anything from a French-style rack of lamb, to Vietnamese spring rolls to a more local Tortilla soup. What’s even better, it also is a catch and cook place. You bring any fish you want and they will cook it per your specifications. Sure, a lot of places in the Mexico Real Estate offer this, but please bear in mind how hard it is to cook it just the way you want it. They can make the fish in any way you could possibly think of- from sushi to sashimi to seared or with noodles or couscous- anything you want. Now I don’t only have the home of my dreams, I have the food to go along with it too.
