How do you get the fishy taste and smell out of shrimp?
I was trying to make shrimp with marinara. The recipe calls for the shrimp to be sauted in oil with garlic and crushed red peppers. I can never get the fishy taste and smell out of the shrimp. Some say maybe ist undercooked and I cook it a little more and it just gets rubbery and still has the nasty taste. I’ve been to places like benihannas who merely cook the shrimp over the hibachi and it tastes amazing. How can I just get a good tasting shrimp?
Smelly shrimp isn’t fresh, and rinsing it well might remove some of the stank. Smell the shrimp at the store. If it smells fishy, don’t buy it. Nice restaurants use fresh foods.
