Soft Sculpture. Cover wave foam but keep shape?
I’m making a soft sculpture for my college final project of sushi. The idea is to enlarge an object that will fit in your hand. I have some white egg crate foam that I want to use for the ‘rice’ of my sushi. I want to keep this object after my class is over with and I want to protect the white foam from stains or wear without making it stiff. I really want to walk away from this project with a soft giant Sushi Pillow.
Here is a picture of egg crate foam http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/312Crk91NmL._SL500_AA300_.jpg
Do you have any ideas for a material I could use to cover the wave foam and keep the shape without making it really stiff? And how would I go about this process you suggest?
personally I would use pieces of white foam and string them together to make them look more like peices of rice.
